The Scary Movie franchise is one of the most successful independently made horror films of all time. Whether you're scarier than a spider or scarier than a high school cafeteria, this horror comedy is a must see event year after year. In Scary Movie 5: College, for example, Billy Galvin (Will Farrell) and friends set up a sorority of horrors in their college campus. When new student Martha puts a stop to it, Billy and his team of college students do everything they can to take back their college. Along the way, they instead take on the real issues of college life, and they do it with their hilarious wit. Brandy is the star of the film, and she does a great job of showing us what it's really like to be a freshman in college. The 3-D conversion adds to the overall fun seen by fans. The Campus Crazies DVD includes three never-before-seen bonus features, including a behind-the-scenes look at the college experience, and a look at the real college craze. "In-Depth Campus Crazes" and "B-Campus Craze" are included as well.
Along with Wes Craven and Michael Chorestic, Joe Dante was one of the most sought after and respected movie directors in 1990s. Made in the mid-90s, Dante’s Scary Movie is one of the earliest and best examples of the horror comedy genre. Featuring contributions from loads of famous Hollywood stars including Kirstie Alley, Adam Sandler, Demi Moore and even Chris Farley, the film follows a small community that faces a huge ghost-catching problem. Stricken by a random occurrence, some unfortunate members of the town start to experience suffocated noises, creepy cold sweat, drippy faucets and bloody noses. Suspecting the death of her boyfriend, Claire (Barbra Streisand) goes to her mother Winona (Polly Platt) for help. Soon, the walls of her apartment start bleeding, spilling out the entire townspeople. Given the chance to see a ghost, Claire volunteers to help out the ghost-busting with the help of her best friend, Heather (Jamie Lee Curtis), her father and assistant, Ed (Tom Eplin), and her daughter Cindy (Madonna). d2c66b5586
