This is a Xbox/Xbox360 gamepad driver for Linux that works in userspace. It is an alternative to the xpad kernel driver and has support for Xbox1 gamepads, Xbox360 USB gamepads and Xbox360 wireless gamepads, both first and third party. The Xbox360 guitar and some Xbox1 dancemats might work too. The Xbox 360 racing wheel is not supported, but shouldn't be to hard to add if somebody is interested.
In addition to all the Xbox related stuff, the driver also has native support for the Thrustmaster Dual Power 3 gamepad, including rumble and can be used on top of the regular Linux joystick driver.

The following gamepads are supported without additional buttons/paddles. We have made a huge research and came to the conclusion that reWASD is not able to detect the additional buttons/paddles, since they are not reported to Windows as separate controls, unlike Xbox Elite 1 and 2 paddles. Some third-party controllers can be recognized by our software. There is only one way to know if reWASD recognizes your gamepad or not: install reWASD and plug your controller in. If your controller is not recognized by reWASD, you can send a request to our support team.
Some gamepads have multiple modes that you can switch between with a shortcut, make sure to check the manual that comes with your controller. Some may require a driver on PC to do so. If this is the case, try different modes:
GameCube controller has 2 modes: PC and Wii U. To use the controller with reWASD, we need you to pick Wii U mode, because PC mode has some limitations that do not permit to use GameCube gamepad in a full swing. You will see this message:
Please note, that reWASD does not work with third-party drivers. If you have followed the steps in reWASD Wizard, and your controller does not show up still, please check the drivers in Device Manager. For example, wup-028 driver provided by zadig is a third-party driver, that prevents the controller from showing up in reWASD. Make sure to find the wup-28 driver in Device manager and replace to USB input device from the list of available drivers.
If you want to use the PCSX2 emulator with our Virtual DS3 controller (or any DS3 controller that uses sixaxis driver), get the modified version of PCSX2 that allows you to use the DS3 gamepad with the sixaxis driver.
Click Pair if you want to use the gamepad wirelessly, then disconnect the cable, and you will see Navigation controller connected wirelessly in reWASD. Click Skip if you plan to use the controller wired.
Side note on DualShock 3 analog triggers, if the only third-party driver installed is reWASD driver, our app supports DS3 directly, analog triggers included. In case some apps (like joy.cpl) do not detect analog trigger presses, make sure to install PS Now, check Step 3 from Troubleshoot #18.
The Gamepad API introduces new events on the Window object for reading gamepad and controller (hereby referred to as gamepad) state. In addition to these events, the API also adds a Gamepad object, which you can use to query the state of a connected gamepad, and a navigator.getGamepads() method which you can use to get a list of gamepads known to the page.
When a new gamepad is connected to the computer, the focused page first receives a gamepadconnected event. If a gamepad is already connected when the page loaded, the gamepadconnected event is dispatched to the focused page when the user presses a button or moves an axis.
Note: In Firefox, gamepads are only exposed to a page when the user interacts with one with the page visible. This helps prevent gamepads being used for fingerprinting the user. Once one gamepad has been interacted with, other gamepads that are connected will automatically be visible.
The gamepad's index property will be unique per-device connected to the system, even if multiple controllers of the same type are used. The index property also functions as the index into the Array returned by Navigator.getGamepads().
As you can see, the gamepad events discussed above include a gamepad property on the event object, which returns a Gamepad object. We can use this in order to determine which gamepad (i.e., its ID) had caused the event, since multiple gamepads might be connected at once. We can do much more with the Gamepad object, including holding a reference to it and querying it to find out which buttons and axes are being pressed at any one time. Doing so is often desirable for games or other interactive web pages that need to know the state of a gamepad now vs. the next time an event fires.
